Highlights

• Day 1: Kruja – Berat – Vlora
• Departure from Italy on a scheduled flight, arrival at Tirana airport, and meeting with the guide/escort. Departure for Kruja, the ancient capital of Albania and a symbol of the anti-Ottoman resistance, as well as the city of the national hero Skanderbeg. Visit to the Medieval Castle, which houses within its walls the National Museum of Skanderbeg and the Ethnographic Museum. Finally, visit the characteristic bazaar consisting of two rows of small shops and ancient wooden workshops along a cobbled street that connects the castle to the rest of the city. Lunch in Kruja and departure for Berat, one of the oldest cities in Albania, founded in the 4th century BC by the Illyrians. It is known as the "City of a Thousand Windows" and has been declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Visit to the Castle and the Museum of Icons. Departure for Vlora. Accommodation in a hotel in Vlora, dinner, and overnight stay.
• Day 2: Saranda - Butrint
• Breakfast at the hotel. Departure south along the spectacular coastal road leading to Saranda. Stop at the Llogara Pass (1025 m above sea level). Arrival in Saranda, free lunch and visit to the seafront. In the afternoon, departure for Butrint and visit to the National Park and Archaeological Site, declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It includes the Agora, the Theatre, the Sanctuary of Asclepius, and the medieval Basilica with its intact mosaic floor decorations. Accommodation in a hotel in Saranda, dinner, and overnight stay.
• Day 3: Blue Eye - Gjirokaster - Durres
• Breakfast at the hotel. Departure for Gjirokaster with a stop along the way at the Blue Eye, a karst spring of incredible transparency. Gjirokaster, known as the "City of Stone," boasts an impressive Castle housing the Museum of Weapons, the Ethnographic Museum, the birthplace of dictator Enver Hoxha, and several other characteristic residences of old noble families. Free lunch and in the afternoon, departure for Durres. Visit the Amphitheater and the modern city. Accommodation in a hotel in Durres, dinner, and overnight stay.
• Day 4: Tirana - Return to Italy
• Breakfast at the hotel. Departure for Tirana. Visit to the city of Tirana, the capital of Albania, with a population of one million, nearly a third of the Albanian population. Visit the National History Museum, Skanderbeg Square, the Ethem Bey Mosque, and the largest anti-nuclear bunker of former dictator Hoxha. Lunch at a traditional restaurant and free time until transfer to the airport for the return flight, marking the end of services.
