Day 2: Saranda – Butrint

Breakfast at the hotel. Departure south along the spectacular coastal road leading to Saranda. Stop at the Llogara Pass (1025 m above sea level). Arrival in Saranda, free lunch, and visit to the seafront.

In the afternoon, departure for Butrint and visit to the National Park and Archaeological Site, declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It includes the Agora, the Theatre, the Sanctuary of Asclepius, and the medieval Basilica with its intact mosaic floor decorations. Accommodation in a hotel in Saranda, dinner, and overnight stay.

Day 3: Blue Eye – Gjirokaster – Durres

Breakfast at the hotel. Departure for Gjirokaster with a stop along the way at the Blue Eye, a karst spring of incredible transparency. Gjirokaster, known as the “City of Stone,” boasts an impressive Castle housing the Museum of Weapons, the Ethnographic Museum, the birthplace of dictator Enver Hoxha, and several other characteristic residences of old noble families.

Day 4: Tirana – Return to Italy

Breakfast at the hotel. Departure for Tirana. Visit to the city of Tirana, the capital of Albania, with a population of one million, nearly a third of the Albanian population. Visit the National History Museum, Skanderbeg Square, the Ethem Bey Mosque, and the largest anti-nuclear bunker of former dictator Hoxha. Lunch at a traditional restaurant and free time until transfer to the airport for the return flight in Tirana International Airport.
